Founded in 1990 by Dutch entrepreneur Ben Pon, Baylaurel Corporation is the producer of the famous Bernardus wines, which annually account for about 50,000 boxes (600,000 bottles). The flagship of the collection is the Marinus wine; a Bordeaux-like, red wine, with grapes grown on the Marinus vineyard in California. Other famous wines from Bernardus include the Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc.
Entrepreneur Robert van der Wallen, founder of Brand Loyalty, has acquired a 50% stake in the Bernardus vineyards that Ben Pon has created in Carmel Valley at the American Westcoast. Ben Pon, as co-owner, remains closely involved with the production of the famous Bernardus wines. Robert van der Wallen has an option to also purchase the remaining fifty percent of the shares in Baylaurel Corporation
